Mass Finishing Centrifugal Barrel

Dear Mass Finishing,

I wanted to take the time to let everyone know at Mass Finishing how happy I am with the HZ 120 and HZ 30 that I have purchased from you. I’m a supervisor of the cleaning, tumbling, passivation, anodizing, and electro polish area at RMS Company. RMS makes many parts for the medical industry, from small pace making parts to medical instruments. I have a couple of examples on how much I’ve been able to save the company money with your centrifugal barrel machines.

Example 1:  Bone plates

BEFORE

AFTER

Bone Plates: 12 lot of 25 plates per week
(300 plates)

A)1st tumble 2 hours for 13 plates = 4 hours
per lot. (4 x 12 = 48 hours per week)

B) Buffing or sanding the tops 10 minutes per plate = 4 hours per lot. (4 x 12 = 48 hours per week)

C) 2nd tumble 30 minutes per 13 plates = 1
hour per lot. (12 hours per week)

Total hours needed to do 12 lots of 25 plates = 108 hour with vibratory bowl and buff wheel.

12 lot of 25 plates per week (300 plates)

A) 1st tumble 30 minutes for 100 plates (four barrels) = 1.5 hours per week (Savings of 46.5 hours per week)

B) NO buffing or sanding of tops. (Savings of 48 hours per week)

C) 2nd tumbling 15 minutes per 100 plates (four barrels) = 45 minutes per week. (Savings of 11.25 hours per week)

Total hours needed to do 12 lots of 25 plates = 2.25 hours

Total savings: Process time = 57.75 hours

Labor time = 48 hours

Total process savings = 105.75 hours per week

Example 2: Tribunes

BEFORE

AFTER

Based on 2600 parts per week. (31,200 parts per year)

One tumble using a harperizer 30 minutes per 200 parts (one barrels) = 6.5 hours per week

Based on 2600 parts per week. (31,200 parts per year)

One tumble 10 minutes per 1800 parts (one barrel) = 20 minutes per week.

Total process savings: 6 hours and 10 minutes per week.

Thanks!
